Founder, MatchReady
Hunter Nicholas went 43-20 in doubles on the ATP/WTA Tour and ITF Pro Circuit main draw, reaching a career-high doubles ranking of No. 345 and a singles ranking of No. 953.
Before going pro, Hunter was a four-year standout at San Diego State, earning All-Mountain West honors in doubles every single season. He was also an all-conference singles selection as a senior and helped the Aztecs win the MWC regular season title in 2013. He led his teammates as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
After retiring from professional tennis, Hunter transitioned into coaching and quickly made an impact. He joined Oklahoma State as a volunteer assistant coach, helping guide the Cowboys to a 16-12 record and a season-ending ranking of No. 22, including a win over Ole Miss in the first round of the NCAA Championships.
He then served as assistant coach at Utah State, where three Aggies earned All-Mountain West honors under his guidance. In 2022, he reunited with Head Coach Jay Udwadia at Arkansas, where he helped lead the Razorbacks to their most wins in a season since 1986. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in May 2024.
In 2025, Hunter was named the ITA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year, recognizing his impact on player development at the highest level of college tennis.
After years of coaching at the D1 level, Hunter saw the same problem over and over: talented players with no system. They trained hard but without structure. They competed without a plan. They had coaches for drills but nobody connecting the dots between practice and match performance. MatchReady is the system Hunter wished every player had access to. It brings SEC-level structure, accountability, and match analysis to serious players everywhere, without needing a full-time traveling coach.
